Clustered around a small television screen in the middle of the night in Cambridge forty years ago. One of the most memorable experiences of my life. I can’t add anything to that extraordinary achievement, but I do want to pay my respects. The full moon in the desert is itself a wondrous experience, so many stars still visible. And then there is the landscape illuminated by its light. Sitting there alone, nothing, absolutely nothing, would have surprised me.
